Julie Jones, CNM
Julie is a board Certified Nurse-Midwife (CNM) licensed in the state of Utah to practice full scope women’s healthcare including teenage, prenatal, middle age and menopause. Julie is also a licensed medical sex counselor and provides individual and couples sex counseling and medical treatment of sexual dysfunction. She has the authority to prescribe and manage medications that are appropriate for the care of women. She provides personalized labor and delivery services in the hospital and women’s healthcare in the clinic. She feels by individualizing the care of each woman that she meets it will help them manage their own health.
Julie has 30 years in nursing experience in cardiology, psychology, obstetrics, and as the nurse manager of OB Air Transport at the University of Utah. She found her most gratifying area is in women’s health.
She loves to talk and what better way to combine both her loves than in being a certified nurse midwife and sex counselor.
Julie is married and has two children and a son-in-law. She likes to talk, read, garden, ski, hike, watch TV and go to Yankees baseball games.
Julie graduated from the University of Utah with a Masters of Science degree in nursemidwifery in 1995. She also graduated from the Postgraduate Sex Therapy Training Institute in Florida in 2013
APRN, CNM, WHNP
Paula Thacker is a mother, a grandmother and a board Certified Nurse Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She is licensed with the State of Utah to provide health care to women in both the clinic and hospital settings. She has the authority to prescribe and manage medications in both settings.
Her expertise extends from the young teenage patient, to prenatal care, midlife and on to menopause management.
She loves the idea of getting to know each of her patients personally, in order to participate in providing them with the best individualized health care possible.
She is married to a very patient husband; they have a “yours,mine and ours” family of 6 children, who are all grown & married with children of their own. She especially enjoys her big family, their cabin in the mountains, baking and a good book.
Paula is a BYU graduate with a Master of Science in Nursing. She also has completed Post-Graduate degrees from the University of Utah as a Certified Nurse Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner in 2000.
She has worked within the realm of women’s health services through her entire nursing career. Over a span of greater than 35 years, she has worked in the capacity of labor and delivery nursing, education, administration and as Director of Women’s Services in the hospital setting, and finally as a Certified Nurse Midwife & Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. However, she feels her most satisfying work is done as she observes women becoming empowered to make informed, safe health care decisions for themselves and their families.
Mandy Johnson, WHNP, MS
Mandy is a board certified Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP). She is licensed in the state of Utah, with the authority to prescribe and manage medications. She provides a full scope of women’s healthcare in the clinic. Her practice is based on providing care that is comprehensive and individualized. She loves the idea that she can be involved in all stages of a woman’s healthcare throughout her lifetime. Her priorities include education, prevention, and treatment.
Mandy graduated with an Associate degree in Nursing from Weber State University in 1999. She then graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from Weber State University in 2001. In 2004 she graduated from the University of Utah with a Master of Science degree in Nursing as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. Since becoming a nurse practitioner, she has working in a variety of settings including: obstetrics and gynecology, infertility and bio-identical hormone replacement therapy.
Mandy is married and has three children: Trevor, Andrew, and Emily.
If her free time Mandy likes to read, run, go camping, and spend time with her family.
APRN, CNM, WHNP
Jennifer Jensen is a Certified Nurse Midwife and Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner. She has cared for women in the Salt Lake are since 2009 following completion of her Advanced Practice Degrees in Midwifery and Women’s Health at the University of Utah.
She is board certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) and National Certification Corporation (NCC). She maintains professional memberships with the American College of Nurse Midwives (ACNM), Nurse Practitioners in Women’s Health (NPWH), Association of Reproductive Healthcare Providers (ARHP), and attends ongoing medical education annual to stay abreast of current research and recommendations for optimal lifestyle and health maintenance throughout a women’s lifespan.
Jennifer enjoys teaching, individualizing patient care, and providing education and support so her patient’s are making informed decisions about contraception, family planning, menopause symptom management, sexual health concerns, and ongoing personal healthcare. She believes that labor support begins long before the onset of labor, and enjoys the months of prenatal care leading to delivery. When the big day comes, labor support may include unmedicated birth and delivery, hydrotherapy (bath or shower), IV medication, epidurals, and one on one support and encouragement involving family and nursing care. In the event that labor leads to a cesarian section, she will stay with you, assisting with the delivery and your postpartum care.
In addition to childbirth and pregnancy, Jennifer provides annual physical exams, contraception, management of irregular bleeding and problem periods, symptoms of menopause, urinary and vaginal infections; orders mammograms, ultrasounds, colonoscopies, and blood work to enhance decision regarding hormone therapy and health maintenance.
Jennifer and her family moved to Riverton in 2013, and are looking forward to the short commute to the office and building a practice close to home. She and her husband, Thom have three children. Two are out on their own and have increased their little family of five to eight. She is now a mother, grandmother, and midwife! In her leisure time she enjoys audiobooks, cooking, crafting, hot yoga, hanging out with her family and their teacup poodle, Georgie.
